Sims 3 'freezes' every few minutes game time While I'm playing the Sims 3 the game 'freezes' every few minutes game time. Everything just stops moving including the mouse, but the trees still sway and any effects seem to play like music notes.

Sims 3 Keeps Freezing
- Nov 27, 2018 Yeah, that happens to me too, it usually happens to people on laptops so if you re doing that, it might be the reason, The Sims 3 is a powerful game unlike others, so it won't be able to handle well on any system, it even crashes on $5000 gaming systems, the game is unstable and that's Maxis's fault, so it's inevitable and nobody can help you, just blame EA and Maxis for making the game too powerful.
- My Sims 3 game keeps freezing every few seconds by theshrimpinator. Answer HQ English. But my game freezes every 10 or less seconds and stays frozen for about 5 seconds. Everything moving around my sim keeps playing, but my sim just stand there frozen. I just don't know why it's doing this.

I am not signing in. i don't 98% of the time i play offline but sometimes while I am playing in live mode in the game, (controlling the family) the game will freeze but more often when I am building the home..
and I cant figure out what is causing the freezing. never had any problems when I bought the game. (only new games)
(2 people responded 39 people ease dropped, help is difficult to find! lol) - edited July 2014i wonder if the update game patch and the store patch that make you download mandatory is causing my game to freeze?
i have un-stall and re-stall but still have the same problem.
i think my problems are coming from the mandatory store and update game patch. (causing a lot of problems to the supernatural game) never before though. - edited July 2014Clearing cache files before starting can help. In 'Documents>Electronic Arts>The Sims 3', look for files with 'cashe' - CASPPartCache.package, compositorCache.package, scriptCache.package, simCompositorCache.package, and socialCache.package - these can all be deleted. They will be remade as needed.
Next, do check system requirements. Even if you meet them, you can get lag. I do, since installing Island Paradise, and am well within specs across the board. Adjusting graphics settings in-game to 'medium' instead pf :high' can help as well, though you'll have to restart after doing this. The 'specs' listed don't really mean much anymore.
Finally, shut down anything you don't need running before launching the game. Sidebar, web pages, various program updates, etc. The game eats a LOT of resources, and minimizing what is in use can make a difference. I have to do that with 8GB of ram. Insane, I know!
Hopefully, this will help.Yes, I own the store!!

Ye Old Fairgrounds - edited July 2014There is at least one mod that i do recommend getting for a smoother game and that's Overwatch by NRaas as it eliminates a lot of clutter (mostly cars).
My game will freeze at 4am as the dawn approaches but it's not an eternal freeze, there is a thaw within a few minutes. If i install the one with fireflies (Generations?) then it will often do a panic attack at dusk while switching out bug types.0 - edited July 2014@LadyGreenEyes
