I need help as to how i can properly download origin & the sims 3 base game to an external hard drive. i have 4 other expansions to install as well but if i figure out how to install the base then the rest should follow through. I've already tried downloading this stuff twice. The first time i installed origin to my mac's hard drive so none of the games could work because they were seperate folders located on my external hard drive. The second time i installed origin on my external hard drive and the sims 3 but it still will not load the game, it just says i have an error. I tried moving origin into the same folder as the sims 3 installed itself on the external but still to no avail did the game work.
also whenever i open origin from my external i get a message that says i should move origin to the applications folder. I deny it every time could this be causing problems too?
I really dont' want to install these games on my hard drive because I fear it would clutter up the glorious speed of my mac.
So if anyone could tell me step by step how to select the right folders to install this in it would be greatly appreciated.
